Diamonds Are Not a Girl's Best Friend (Well, Not THIS Girl's, Anyway)
Just to let you know, this post isn't entirely about Serafin.
A guy was supposed to come today to help us with finding out how Serafin died by rewinding the CCTV. One of the cameras in our house is facing the road, so I think we'll probably be able to see which car killed him (if that happened). Just to let you know, so you don't get so grossed out, Serafin was not run over by a car; if a car did it, the bumper or something hit Serafin's head
I wonder how long it took for him to die? I really, really hope he died immediately. It would be so horrible to think that he lay there helplessly for ten minutes or so, wanting to bark at us to come out of the house and help him, but not being able to summon the strength to do it
I can't wait for my mom to get back and tell me how it went. I don't know how I'll feel toward the man (or woman). There's a chance I might be okay about it. There's a big chance I might be angry. There's also a chance I'll feel like killing the person. But it depends, I guess. If the person knew he hit Serafin, and got scared and ran away, I'll feel like throwing him/her into the Marianas Trench along with a bucket of Portuguese Man-O-Wars. I'll feel even more malicious if I know that Serafin had not died immediately, and that we could have brought him to the vet and treated him and given him his life back, if only the driver, whoever it was, had told us about it
I filled Serafin's bowl. I don't know why. Just to act as if he was still alive, I guess, but I'm not sure of my motives. I also sat there on the bench outside the house. We used to tie Serafin's leash to the leg of that bench. So I sat there and started reading sadly, but then this stupid bee came and started buzzing around, so I had to vamoose.
Enough about that! Now we'll move on to another subject, which is what I did yesterday, which is about...
JEWELRY!
Lol. I'm serious. Jewelry. Me! Jewelry! Haha! I used to think that the saying "Diamonds are a girl's best friend" was totally untrue, and well -- I still think that. Not my best friend. But jewelry is so pretty! My mom brought me to Starhill yesterday after school, along with my Auntie Moi Moi. Mom wanted to bring me to this thing they were having at a shop called Bottega Veneta. They sell bags there which are $UPER EXPEN$IVE. Like, one was RM8,000. The bags are woven, and in colors like maroon/red, green, purple, and black. Personally, I don't think they're so nice. They're pretty plain, and the colors are kinda boring.
No offence to Bottega Veneta lovers
Mom wanted to bring me there because you could only get in there yesterday by special invitation, and my auntie got invitations (although she has no idea why she got them). It was boring. There were nicely-dressed, prettily made-up people there, and waiters carrying trays of sparkling water (I hate sparkling water. It tastes like gas), lime juice, and some cold yellowish beverage that I think must be beer or wine.
It was so boring. There was a cameraman, as usual. I went to one of these kind of things at another bag shop -- Anya Hindmarch -- before, and it was pretty much the same, except the Anya Hindmarch one was better, even though I didn't look at the bags. The cameraman wanted to take our picture (he went around taking pictures of everybody), and I was VERY reluctant and did not fail to express it, because I look horrible since I got those stinking mosquito bites on my face. It made some people look over at us. But my mom made me have my picture taken. Her and her sister Candy's (part-time model, has her own beauty shop thing) picture came out in a magazine when they went to the Anya Hindmarch thing.
We didn't stay long, thank goodness. We went to a jewelry-and-watch shop called Van Cleef and Arpels, because the jewelry we were staring at from outside were so pretty. Their signature design, things with the four-leaf clover on them, are so cute. They were selling some limited edition butterfly things (only 20 of each design worldwide!), but they weren't so pretty. A nice lady and man brought us into a small room without a door where we could sit as they told us about some of their products.
I flipped through this little booklet and saw a really pretty watch called "Jour/Nuit", which means "Day/Night". The watch had a black hill on it, and the sun and moon were behind it in a dark blue background. The man proceeded to explain to me and my auntie about the watch when he saw me admiring it. The sun and moon rotated on the face according to the time. The sun was made of yellow sapphires (I think), and the blue background was made of aventurine, a rare, sparkly material. It has 309 diamonds around the watch, and it cost about RM240,000.

...
OMG.
Two hundred and forty thousand ringgit!
I WANTED THAT WATCH! I wanted to keep it for when I got older, because I'm too clumsy and careless to wear it now. Eeeee! You can buy a house with that money! ... Well, maybe not a bungalow or penthouse. Maybe an apartment or terrace house.
After that, we went to Mouawad when another lady working at Van Cleef and Arpels brought us there to see because it Mouawad was also by Van Cleef and Arpels. And Mouawad has some pretty beautiful jewelry, too! More bright and colorful than VCandA. There's a collection there by the supermodel Heidi Klum, called the Heidi Klum Collection or something. A foreign man working there had a hoarse voice, like he had been shouting or had a sore throat or something. His name was Antoine (an-twahn).
He brought us into a bigger room, with a table and 6 chairs, and asked us what we wanted to drink. My mom wanted tea, so he got this lady to make tea for her, and she gave a little china jug of milk and a small pot of sugar cubes. I ate 2 of the sugar cubes there. Just bit them and let them dissolve like that. They look like styrofoam. Antoine showed us more Mouawad jewelry, all the way up 'til about 8 PM. I really liked the jewelry! They're so cool.
But diamonds are still not my best friend.
They won't even TALK to me. Why won't they talk to me if they're supposed to be my best friends?
We went to eat Thai food downstairs, and my favorite was the jackfruit stuffed with sticky rice and drizzled with coconut milk. That was good. We reached home later than 10 PM at night. I was tired, so I got out of bed today at 7:35AM, left the house at about 8:40AM, and reached school at around 10:15AM.
=.= So long. There was a jam, though. I have no idea how long it lasted, because I was reading in the car.
Oh, and by the way, Breaking Dawn by Stephenie Meyer is out in bookstores! Yay! Emily bought the book already. Hah. I remember when I used to be crazy about Edward Cullen. And Kaname Kuran. And Zero Kiryu. And Joe Jonas and Daniel Radcliffe and Peter Pan and Jeremy Sumpter...
Ah! I think I'm going to end this post now. Nice weather we're having right now. It's raining a little outside, and the doors in the balcony are open, so my house is nice and cool. When you're Malaysian, you like rainy weather. Then it's not so hot anymore, but only temporarily. I like the rain!
