Aurelia's Birthday Party

I just came back from my friend, Aurelia's, 9th birthday party at LeMeridian, whcih by the way, is connected to the Hilton. I just found that out. She had a butterfly themed birthday party, with crepe paper hanging from the ceiling and a big butterfly piñata. First we ate, then after that we had activities and games. We decorated little wooden boxes with glitter and marker and shiny stars and stuff. Then we made necklaces to put into the boxes. Then we had to count how many butterflies there were in the room. The people who guessed the number closests to the correct answer would rin a prize. We only got to know the winners at the end of the day. I guessed 192. After that, we played that game where you have to dance while the music is playing and freeze when it stops.

It was quite easy the first three times the music stopped, because when it stopped, I quickly covered my face with my hands and shut my eyes, so I couldn't laugh. Then the friendly party planner lady said we couldn't do that or close or eyes, so when the music stopped, I just crossed my arms and stared into space. And I found out something: whenever the Lady (party planner lady) nodded to this guy, the music stopped. So I KNEW when the music was gonna stop. Hahaha!

One time, the music stopped, and I crossed my arms and stared into space, while she tried to make us laugh, she said I was like a model posing, and took a camera and snapped a picture! OMG. The rest of the game was quite easy. Quite, except for the fact that Jia He kept trying to stop himself from laughing, and making weird grunting noises and stuff, and nearly made me laugh out loud. And also the fact that Aris, Aurelia's little brother, became the Lady's "assistant" (that's what most of the people became when they were out), and he kept saying stuff to Jia He like, "Is that your k*k*b*rd?" and other gross things.

And the lady made it hard for us! She said we had to put our hands in the air or we were disqualified! So I raised them up, but pinned my elbows at my sides, bcoz I knew once the music stopped and if I had my arms really high up in the air, they'd get sore and I'd lose. Which is what happened to Aurelia.

The music stopped, and she had her arms high in the air, and she kept muttering to her friend, "Wo de shou hen tong ah. Hen tong ahhh..." And she lost because of it, I think. LOL. As the game drew to an end, the Lady had even MORE assistants, and one of them kept waving her lollipop in front of my face and chanting, "Lollipop! Lollipop! Lollipop..." Aris also tried to make me laugh but switched back to making Jia He laugh when I didn't show any reaction. And once, someone pushed JH over, and he pushed me because I was at the back of him! But I tried to stay in my position.

I won for that game! There were 6 winners. Jia He and I were one of them.

After that we got to hit the piñata blindfolded! While we were in line, my Mom asked me not to hit the piñata too hard or the kids behind me wouldn't get to hit it, and I kept saying, "But I wanna hit it! But I wanna hit it!" But I didn't GET to, since the little boy two places in front of me hit it open and the Lady shook all the contents out.

There was so much screaming and pushing and everything! We all lunged at the candy and grabbed all we could get our hands on. I stuffed the candy (and confetti) into my pockets and I got so much!! It was sooooooooo much fun!!

And later I had some CONFETTI in my underwear!!!

Mom asked me if I liked the party, and I said yes, and she asked me if I wanted her to throw me a party that was like that, but of course I said no. Although I would have loved a party like that, I'm afraid some of my friends don't. Like PaulLyn and Tash and Emily, for example. I don't think they're childish enough.

Oh well...

And after that, Mom got me one of the pretty butterfly decorations on the table becoz she asked Aurelia's dad for it!! Yayyyy thanks Mommyyyyy! Hmm that sounds weird... So anyway, we got our partypacks before we went home.

And the cake! How could we forget the cake? They had 3 cakes, since they kind of celebrated Aurelia's sister and brother, Aurarius (I dunno how to spell Aurarius) and Aupulanz's, birthdays too. Aurarius and Aupulanz's cakes were jelly cakes, but Aurelia's cake was really fantastic!! It was a castle, and it was really cool.

Her previous birthday cake was shaped like a pair of ballet shoes, which were also very pretty. And by the way, there were 215 butterflies in the room. Two girls won. They guessed 219 and 218.

Then we had some problem with our car, and had to take one of the LeMeridian taxi-things home. It was a Serena or whatever you call it, and was quite comfortable.
