21 August 2007 - Tuesday
Yesterday night, Mom brought me and my Wai Po and Wai Gong (my mom's parents) to eat at this Chinese restaurant. She said my Aiyee (my mom's sister, Candy) was going, too. I asked Mom if it was a nice restaurant. "Yes." Is it as nice as a hotel restaurant? "Yes." I had to ask so I knew what to wear, but that nice as a hotel thing made me really want to go. It took AGES to reach there coz of traffic, and also coz it was quite far away. And if you're wondering what restaurant it is, ask Paul Lyn or Paul Mae. Remember that restaurant we went for New Year's Eve? The one which WAS filled with yellow balloons and where we met those annoying boys who kept speaking in Chinese and where PL won RM100 for that guess-how-many-balloons-there-are contest and tore the money a little bit for fun? Yeah, that's it. I forgot what they call it. Guang Yue or something. And Rakuzen, that Japanese restaurant, was like right beside it!!! But they might not have the same frozen strawberries stuffed with vanilla ice cream with whipped cream, like the other Rakuzen near Mont' Kiara. Anyway, my Aiyee and her boyfriend, my Jiu-jiu (uncle) and his girlfriend, and my other Jiu-jiu and his wife, Diana (we don't call her Jiu Mu, as we are actually supposed to call her after they got married. Jiu Mu = old chicken. Sounds like mu ji what. So we just call her Diana) where there. I sat beside my Aiyee and she showed me the LIttle Mermaid bottle thing she bought for me. It's so cool, with a little globey thing at the bottom of the cup, with water and a mermaid in it. Call it childish if you wish, but I still like Disney Princesses. A little.Anyway, when the people turned on the karaoke thing (no one really sang in the end anyway), with this old Chinese song playing, I asked my Mom, "Is anyone listening to that?" And she said my Jiu1 (Jiu1 is the one who is not married okay?) if he was listening, and he asked if anyone wanted to sing, and they all didn't, so I was like, "Can we turn it off?" Mom asked, "Why?" And I said, very straight-forwardly, "It sounds horrible." But Mom said we couldn't switch it off coz some of them actually wanted to listen. When they served the shark fin soup-in-a-coconut, I smelled it and it was so horrible!!!!!! It smelled like vegetables and reminds me of... cockroaches. I just couldn't bring myself to drink it. Just smelling it made my eyes roll up to my head. So my Mom ordered another one, and THAT ONE SMELLED BAD, TOO!!! And my Aiyee smelled it and said that it wasn't the coconut smell, it was the SMELL AND TASTE OF SHARK BONES. I couldn't really drink that, either, altho I ate some sharkfin and drank a bit. My Aiyee doesn't like the coconut sharkfin either, and I couldn't tell most of them didn't either, but my Mom loves it. Jiu-jiu looked like he loved it too, the way he was slurping it down like what. They were all talking in Chinese/Cantonese, and I kept saying, "What? What?" to some of the things I didn't understand. And my Aiyee was talking about how she was in am advertisement with her friend, but really it's no surprise. She's really pretty, you know. And they were talking about other things, too. I asked her how old she was, and she asked me to guess, so I was like, "21, 22, 23, 24, 25, 26, 27, 28, 29???" And she was like, "How old r u? 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9?" And I asked her again how old she was, and she said, "Long time ago, I was 18." Geez! I asked Mom and she asked me to ask Candy. Mom said Aiyee was nine years younger than she, and Mom was born on 1974, so I took my handphone out and used the calculator.2007-1974=33-9=24Aiyee was 24. Geez!!!! SILLY ME. I forgot that she and I are both born in the pig year (don't take those stuff seriously; it's just for fun, at least for me it is. I think they actually believe it). I could've just multiplied my age by two. And I really wanted to go to Rakuzen to have their frozen strawberries to go (or da bao; pack la~~~~~), so I ordered strawberry pudding for dessert, and my Mom ordered avocado cream. The pudding was SO GOOD and SO SWEET! And I tried my Mom's avocado cream - it didn't taste like avocado! It was pretty sweet and tasted like pandan. It tastes better than it sounds.I hope Yuwen can come today. She was at Sally Yeah's (or Yeh's or Yea's) concert and Aiyee was there too. Cool huh? My Mom went to the concert too, and something hilarious happened to her there, but I can't tell you what it is coz it might embarrass her. :)
