Animals and Astronomy
This is something out of Jia Wei's Chinese exercise books, where he had to form a few sentences, each containing a particular word.
What he wrote:
凶猛 = 老师是一个凶猛的动物。
Translation: Ferocious = [My] teacher is a ferocious animal.
What he probably meant to write:
凶猛 = 狮子是一个凶猛的动物。
Translation: Ferocious = A tiger is a ferocious animal.
Lolz. My brother. His teacher must have been laughing like crazy, or maybe deeply offended. Lolz. Jia He said the Forbidden Word yesterday when we were late to pick him up. I don't know why he got so mad about us being late for like, 10 minutes, but I seriously felt like smacking him until he flew out the window or something. But I was trying to control myself and be a good girl *a shining halo appears above my head*, so I called him a loser and replied "ha ha" every time he said something. I think that annoyed him more than if I had replied with something equally as bad as the Forbidden Word.
Church yesterday was really fun! We watched a video called Indescribable by Louie Giglio and omg! Watch it! It's beauuuutiful... I think I finally realized how awesome astronomy is, and I think I'll have to work really hard on science, which I'm way behind at, if I want to be an astronomer. There were so many pictures of constellations and galaxies and stuff, I can barely believe it. It made me think... God is bigger and greater than I ever imagined.
You know, I wonder why I just stand there and look around while other people around me are crying or whatever when someone preaches something that touches them. I don't cry. I just look around and wonder why they're crying and I'm not. Doesn't mean I'm heartless though. Or cold-hearted. But I totally LOVED yesterday's video. Here are some pictures from the video (names below):
Pleiades Constellation
Distance: currently thought to be roughly 440 light years
Sombrero Galaxy
Distance: (average between 2 methods to measure distance) 29.3 million light years
Hourglass Nebula
Distance: 8,000 light years
Whirlpool Galaxy
Distance: 23 million light years
X-Structure at the Core of Whirlpool Galaxy
OMG. Doesn't that last picture look like a cross? As in, the Cross? It's amazing! Totally amazing!!
And I decorated my phone last night. I bought 80 different-sized Swarovski crystals in 4 different colors -- magenta, clear, teal, and lavender -- in Taiwan, remember? Remember, people? I decorated them into a heart at the bottom left side of the back of my black phone (Nokia 6300) and stuck them on with AB glue. I also bought 2 earrings (not in pairs), 1 butterfly and 1 pink flower, and got the lady in the shop to cut off the sharp part, then I stuck the butterfly and pink flower on, but I'm worried that they will come off... I'm quite careless with my phone.
And also, Paul Mae has chicken pox. That's right, people. CHICKEN POX. Why are so many people getting chicken pox nowadays? First Emily, who passed it on to her maid and her dad, then Saskia, and now Paul Mae. I hope I'm not the next victim. But if I do get it, the bright side is that I can use it as a weapon against my 3 brothers! When they annoy me, I can just threaten them, "If you keep pestering me, I'll touch you and spread my chicken pox! Wahaha!" Then they'll run off screaming.
Just kidding... I think.
