Day of Excellence (Day One)

TODAY'S NEWS section

Today was DOE!! They started first with the Scripture Team Quiz (STQ) at 9am. When Mr. Fan called Shoon Fai's Team (Shoon Fai, Grace K, Paul Lyn and Kelvin) and Isaac's Team (Isaac, Tommy, Sarah S and Abie). Then Mr. Fan spoke into the mic, "Where is Kelvin?" But Kelvin wasn't there yet, so the supervisors were discussing what they should do. I tried calling him several times but couldn't because apparently, Xin Yi was trying to call him at the same time. But later when she stopped, I called him again and he answered.

Me: Kelvin! You know, the Scripture Team Quiz started already la! Where are you?
Kelvin: Huh? I'm still at home!
Me: *laugh*

Then I tried to get PaulLyn's (who sitting on one of the chairs on the stage) attention, but couldn't. So I hard to sort of yell out in front of everyone, "Kelvin is still at home!" When I said the word "home" my voice shook a bit coz I thought it was funny and was kind of giggling and laughing. Some people started laughing and stuff. So thank God they didn't disqualify the team. They rescheduled it to later, and had Isaac's Team compete against Klang's team first. Then I called Kelvin again.

Me: Where are you now?
Kelvin: I just woke up and brush my teeth!
Me: You just woke up and brushed your teeth?! (So Zoeder and Raquel could hear) *giggles/laughs*

Sry but it's just funny. Zoe and Raquel seemed to find it funny, too. But that thing about Kelvin being late embarrasses all PJ GRC-goers.

Kelvin came later on, at about 10-something, during the break. When PaulLyn's Team competed against the Klang team, they won easily. At least I think they won. They should. We were taking down scores.

We didn't record the scores for the first round where Isaac's Team vs. the Klang's Team. But the Klang's Team won for that round.

Whoops sorry. I was afk for a while because my Mom ordered me to take the dog for a walk because he was barking so much. First he pooped a bit on the road. Then he pooped on that field opposite our house. The poop was longer, like bananas, there. LOL. Why am I talking about poop?

After lunchtime, it was time for the music presentations. I was number 7, despite what they wrote on the schedule because they had to reschedule it was bit. When I saw how good the others were, I felt a bit silly. Before me, all of them except David Low used a book. Memorization is worth 10 points! But I can't memorize Clarinet Blues. When Grace G was like, "blah blah blah... Hong Jia Yu." I was like really shocked coz I forgot for a while I was number 7, and I gasped, "What?!" But softly. When it was time for Paul Lyn, Esther Lee, and Grace K to perform a violin trio song, Wee Yen called out, "PaulLyn! Kelvin loves you! Don't blame me!" Lol. Weird!!

DOE ended earlier than it was supposed to end - 2 hours earlier, to be exact. So I had to call the driver to pick me up early. While waiting, we went to the Music Room, where some people were praticing for their chorale (Jon Rob, Wee Yen, Sarah T, Dawn, Hazel, Shabeta, Isaac, I think), and some of my friends were skipping rope or chatting. I skipped rope and chatted until my driver came.

Tomorrow, Raquel, Grace K, and Sarah T are gonna perform onstage as a vocal trio! I hope their turn to sing will be before 4pm, because I have to leave at 4 for my piano class.

By the way, when it was time for Natassha Zoe to play the violin with her Dad playing the guitar (Pocahontas, Colors of the Wind), and only a few people, including me, clapped, I turned to Zoe and the others on my left and said, "Some people are just plain mean!" (NZ isn't really very well-liked, for some reason) And the Klang people, Sayfryil and Sabrina (PMae kept trying to figure out which was which), or something, turned their heads to look at me. I hope they didn't think I was talking about THEM, because I wasn't.
